.NET Consultant
About the role and what you'll be doing
As a .NET consultant you will spend most of your time working as part of an agile delivery team (most likely at a client’s office) on an exciting project helping that client to realise the business benefit of an investment into the cloud. Our projects vary a huge amount from client to client, so you’ll never get bored.
You can expect to be playing a technical role. You will work closely with Amido Business Analysts and QA engineers to analyse requirements and design an appropriate solution, with the support of your colleagues and your project’s Tech Lead. When not delivering testable technical solutions in the form of high-quality code, you will be involved in all other aspects of an agile project, from estimating to refinements & retrospectives. You might also be involved in presenting technical topics to your team, or coaching more junior members of staff, depending on project needs.
Amido has a rich and varied set of communities (on a wide variety of topics from security to mental health) as well as your core competency that you’ll be encouraged to contribute to, and learn from, where projects and client commitments allow.
You will be a self-starter, proactive in your project work and your career, including identifying your training needs and planning to fill them with the help of your training budget.
What you’ll bring to Amido
- Practicing TDD
- Developing in .NET Core
- Familiarity with HTTP concepts
- Understanding RESTful interfaces
- Being able to work with source control
- Understanding CI processes
- Being able to understand and apply design patterns in code
- Understanding the purpose of databases
- Being able to work with frameworks (e.g. ASP.NET MVC Web API)
- Understanding business and client needs
- Articulating a solution to a technical audience
- Being able to interact effectively with the team (e.g. approachable, good communication skills, work closely with QA, DevOps, BA, TL, etc)
- Being proactive (provide accurate estimates, raise blockers, pick up tasks from the backlog)
